As a web and brand marketer, my job is all about creating clarity. Whether it’s helping a brand define its story, designing a website that guides people to action, or refining a strategy, I know that having a clear direction can change everything.
When I reflected on my own life over the past few years, I noticed a pattern: the times I made the most progress weren’t the ones where I did more, but the ones where I focused on the right things.
That realization got me thinking: what if I approached my personal growth as I do for my projects at work: starting with clarity and building a clear path forward? Instead of aiming for large outcomes, I created a framework to help me prioritize what truly matters. I call it the Personal Growth Funnel, and it focuses on small, meaningful actions that lead to big results.
For example, one of my goals this year is to become a more confident public speaker. Here’s how I’m using the Personal Growth Funnel:
Clarity: My priority is to feel comfortable presenting my ideas in front of any audience size.
Action: I’ve committed to creating weekly opportunities to present, like volunteering to lead team discussions or talking more on social.
Flow: I’ll reflect on each experience, note what works, and adjust my approach to improve over time.
Momentum doesn’t happen by accident. It starts with a clear path. The Personal Growth Funnel helps you do just that by focusing on:
Clarity: What’s the one thing that matters most in this season of your life?
Action: How can you break that into small, repeatable habits?
Flow: How will you stay flexible and open to learning along the way?
Take a minute to ask yourself and reflect:
What’s one thing I want to feel more of this year?
What’s one habit I can start that aligns with that feeling?
What’s one way to make that habit easy and enjoyable?
Momentum starts with small, intentional steps. The answer isn’t always about doing more. It’s about focusing on the right things: getting clear on your goals, building habits that work for you, and giving yourself permission to grow.
What’s one step you’ll take today to move toward the life you want? Feel free to leave a comment or hit reply to let me know, so I can cheer you on.
This was an entire WORD! Thank you for this framework. I will be implementing it ASAP!
